We like how this collection is a mix and match of sort. Some are wall-attached, some have easy access from 2 sides, some are partially concealed by sliding doors and all come in a plethora of shades. Looks like they have done a good job in making a rather dull, furniture unit into an interesting, colorful piece that brings out your living space. The one caveat is that you will need quite a large room to pull this off.

We really love seeing restaurants that stand out and make a statement through their appearance. Promoting one’s business with the help of great design seems to be a real goal these days and we couldn’t be happier about it. Green Bistro is a the result of a collaboration between Siddik Erdogan & Jorn Frohlich and is located in the  Lengermann & Trieschmann department store, in Osnabruck, Germany. The place showcases highly modern arrangements and features a surrealist game of lines and light. Found on Homedit, the small informal restaurant consists of white chairs and tulip tables that make a lovely contrast with an imposing ceiling, which seems inspired by sci-fi movies. All in all, we imagine the visual effects this place offers are the main point of attraction when it comes to the clients’ loyalty. ART+COM (a group of designers specializing in designing spaces with new media) has broken down the abstract concept of sustainability for the average person with a tangible digital media exhibition located at Autostadt, Volkswagen’s communications platform in Wolfsburg, Denmark. As a visitor navigates the “Level Green: The Concept of Sustainability” exhibit, they can learn about climate change and its consequences, the importance of sustainability to the planet’s economic and social health, and Volkswagen’s specific approach to the concept. J. Mayer H. designed the center with its 25 media exhibits, all which allow visitors to actively engage in learning not only about the concept, but how they can practice it themselves and implement it into their own lives. Data sculptures enable visitors to visualize and compare the facts and figures more easily. Interactive media walls explain important themes and encourage interaction with playful access to data via touching. The installations even foster a personal connection to the issue by prompting visitors to reflect on their own lifestyles. We think these images provide good fodder for futuristic style enthusiasts.

Futuristic Exhibition Center Marrying Digital Media & Sustainability

Opera houses must be designed on a dramatic and grand scale. They are in fact, meant to hold and carry out the giant, booming voices of performers to the audience. If you’ve ever been to an opera, you have known the feeling of being overwhelmed – overwhelmed by the expansive architecture, the illustrious and sumptuous design, and the titanic voices radiating from the stage. It is difficult not to be inspired. That is the effect these opera houses had on photographer David Leventi, whose collection of snapshots capture the grandeur of it all. Perhaps the color palettes, gold-gilded ceilings and ostentatious balconettes, may inspire our audience as well, but with design. Perhaps the rich reds may spark off some ideas at home?
