Featured today is the sun flooded residence located in Mallorca – a home that was inspired by the inhabitant’s love for the weather here. Travelling for many years from Sweden to Mallorca, the couple currently living here decided that it was time to move to the island and enjoy its magnificent array of features. There were four people involved in shaping this home: architect Alexander Von Waberer, interior designer Isabel Jover, surveyor Juan Carlos Sopena and engineer José Fermoselle. The brief included concise needs: a comfortable home away from stressful urban developments, with a modern architecture and impressive views from every room. Estudio Dai 10 managed to create a personalized space that encompasses austere decor and lacks unnecessary ornaments. High quality materials were used throughout, and the villa was adapted to the rugged terrain – creating a successful collection of interior and exterior spaces that remain connected by a multitude of terraces and windows. Named Rocky, this next exceptionally designed modular cradle:”is a piece of furniture with long usability, as it adapts to the growth and needs of an active child. At first it is both a cradle for baby, and a rocking-chair for parents, combined into one. As the child grows the cradle can be rotated 180° and turns into a children’s bed with a length of 140 cm. Use the bedrail as a boundary for greater safety.” Its white, modern shape and gentle swing allow kids to interact with the piece of furniture and create a strong bond with it. The creators, a young German product designer team – Sina Gwosdzik and Jakob Dannenfeldt of Jäll & Tofta – fabricated the Rocky Cradle as a modular help around the house. This beautiful, contemporary cradle was manufactured in Germany using only ecological and carefully selected materials. Studio B Architects designed this home – Nove 1 – in Aspen, Colorado. The project “consists of two adjoined and related cousins on a corner site and is often thought of as a 'sibling rivalry'“. The opportunity given by the clients brought a new way of looking at architecture: the creative minds behind this project separated the two individual houses with a concrete demising wall designed to rise up from the sand. A strong relation between the two properties can be seen in the architecture and interior design. Trying to overcome the privacy issues, the architects from Studio B Architecture created a pattern for the windows, ensuring privacy for the inhabitants of each house, for each level and terrace. Using beautifully composed architectural elements, the architects created modern facades for both buildings: “The exterior material palate is simple yet elegant and is comprised of Italian marble slabs, mahogany siding with reveal details adding a depth to the skin and aluminum-clad doors and windows.” The interiors seem mirrored and offer both a wide, double-height space for everyday living and entertaining. The walls are thus perfect for art collections proudly displayed. Wooden floors and carefully selected furniture create a welcoming ambiance in each home.
