Created by Salt Lake City-based studio Axis Architects, the contemporary residence expects to be admired from every angle before stepping inside, where a fantastic floor plan and modern furniture create a comfortable place. Designed to sustain a modern lifestyle, the H-House features 4,100 square feet of modern living spaces, divided into three floors, each with their own charm. The main living spaces are placed on the first floor, just above the garage and vestibule. The kitchen and dining, home office, living room and master bedroom are all on the main level, while the study and another bedroom are upstairs. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the H-House is sure to draw admiration and maybe a little bit of jealousy, am I right?

waterfall effect Japanese Fountain With Collapsing Water Patterns [Video]

Japan’s water fountains are in touch with technology. Have a look at this incredible display of patterns as the succeed in Osaka City Station. You have to admit this is an original why to find out what time it is. Aside from showcasing a collapsing digital clock, this Osaka water fountain displays plenty of other patterns (some of them quite artistic), made up of a variety of shapes. The result is spectacular, the type of performance that can get you stuck in front of it for several minutes in a row, without realizing it. The ingenious system is based on a printer that emits illuminated water droplets and that is controlled digitally. The patterns are said to reproduce images stored on a computer. Japanese Fountain With Collapsing Water Patterns [Video]

Pitsou Kedem Architects recently completed this 100 sq meter, castle-like apartment project in Old Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel. The challenge was to restore the structure’s old characteristics including the arches and stone and beach sand walls, while creating more open and modern spaces one can freely float in and out of. While the textures of the exterior of the house were preserved as was much of the interior, the aim was to make the apartment appear more urban and loft-like by adding stainless steel appliances and a more fluid layout. What is most interesting about the Jaffa apartment, whose balconies all face West towards Mediterranean waters, is despite the dichotomy of old and new, a sense of harmony is still omnipresent.
